CVUSC

Welcome to the Comox Valley United Soccer Club

We are a volunteer organization whose primary goal is,

"To promote the enjoyment of, and participation in, the sport of soccer."

The CVUSC oversees our local youth, women, men and masters teams. Each division has it's own VP with the overall organization of the club overseen by the President. Within the Youth Division we have a recreational league for children aged 5 to 18 years, kindergarten thru Grade 12, and a competitive league for children aged 11 to 18.

Recreational League (House) : 5 to 18 year olds

We have two recreational "house league" seasons - September to December and April to June.
Children are divided up into divisions according to age with all children playing with same aged children. If numbers require, we will combine age groups in order to make an appropriate schedule. In the Fall season only, some age groups may also interlock with Campbell River teams to assist both our communities in forming viable schedules.

Games are all played on Saturdays. Fields and times are set 2 - 4 weeks prior to the start of the season.

The primary fields used are any of: Valley View Elementary School, Mark Isfeld Secondary School, Village Park Elementary School, Highland Secondary School, Woodcote field, Vanier Secondary School, or various others as numbers require.

Coaches are parent volunteers. Advanced knowledge of soccer is not required. CVUSC hosts beginner and advanced coaching clinics to assist coaches in their tasks. Coaches indicate their interest by checking the appropriate box on the registration form. Coaches are requested to provide one practice during the week at a field of THEIR choosing and at a time appropriate for THEM.

Once coaches and teams have been arranged, the coaches are given their team lists at a coaches meeting, usually 1-2 weeks prior to the start of the season. The coach will then call all his or her players to inform them of a first practice session.

After players are placed on teams as needed on a first come first serve basis.

Each age group has a Division Manager. These are the people who form the teams, and act as liaison between the coaches and the Club. They help from the Youth Executive and are responsible for making the decisions that affect our children. Any questions regarding your child's' team may be directed first to your child's coach and then to your Division Manager. When appropriate they may choose to forward your question to the Head Coach or the VP of Youth.

CVUSC plays two separate and distinct house season, fall and spring. Registration for each season is done separately in the month preceding the season. Other registration options are available refer to the registration pages for full details.
