CVUSC - Turf Field Project

Artificial turf fields for the Comox Valley...
our time has come.

Artificial turf is becoming the norm for the construction of playing fields. Many Island communities including Victoria, Duncan, Ladysmith, Nanaimo, Port Alberni and even Powell River have invested in artificial turf fields. Our current grass playing fields are subject to frequent unexpected closures. In the spring, summer and fall months, heavy use and harsh weather conditions affect grass growth causing bare patches. In the winter, when the fields are wet due to rain and snow, fields are easily damaged when played on. Fields are then closed leaving people with no-where to play.

Our vision is the development of a lit, two field artificial turf field complex adjacent to the soccer clubhouse at Valley View park. The first field closest to the clubhouse would be a FIFA certified class "A" field exclusively intended for soccer. The second field would be a multi-sport field able to accommodate not only soccer but field hockey, field lacrosse and football. For more on the Artificial Turf Field Project click here.
