Spring Registration 2010

Spring Youth Soccer registration is well under way. Spots are still available but players not wanting to be placed on a wait list should register as soon as possible. Spring Soccer

The Spring Season kicks off again on Saturday April 10th and goes through to Saturday June 19th. The coaches meetings are slated for Monday and Tuesday March 29th and 30. For week three, (April 24th) our VP of development, Ash Mohtadi has organized two excellent Grassroots coaching Sessions (see posting below) for our coaches. This years Mini World Cup will be played in Port Alberni, May 1st and 2nd. Contact your division manager for more information. More MWC information can be found by clicking here

Coaching Clinics

CVUSC has programmed several Coaching clinics covering all areas of coaching development from the brand new parent, novice coach, through to Select coach. The intent is to provide you the coach all the tools you need to develop yourself in to the best coach and our youth into the best soccer players they can be while having fun. All the clinics are free to all CVUSC coaches. CVUSC will typically only pay for one of these clinics per calendar year, unless special permission is given explicitly by the VP Development. Clinics will be held at the CVUSC Clubhouse and Valley View Fields. Come prepared with food, snacks and water and prepared to play with the appropriate soccer playing strip. There will be on-field play (mostly) and some classroom discussion so bring a note pad and pen as well. There is no better way to build your confidence and understanding of the basics of coaching, It is highly recommend all coaches to take at least one clinic per year- our Comox Valley youth deserve it. Referee Clinics

Our Spring Referee (Small -Sided Games) clinic is expected to take place on Friday April 9th (evening) and Saturday April 10th (morning). This is an excellent clinic. Details will be posted soon on the VISRA North website. Vancouver Island Soccer Referees' Association - Northern Chapter

1st annual Family Fun League

CVUSC's U14 Girls Crush Soccer Team is pleased to introduce our 1st annual Family Fun League All games played 7 aside. Co-ed, minimum of 3 females on the pitch at all times (not including keepers). 50% of the team must be between 12 and 18 years old. Players are to have family ties. i.e. father, mother, daughter, brother, aunt, uncle, or any other "special relationship". If you're wondering if you qualify, just ask us, you most likely do. Our name says it all, we are a non competitive fun driven league. For more information Click here.

CONCACAF Women's U17 Championships Costa Rica 2010

Despite quake fears, Haiti’s girls set to compete. When the CONCACAF Women's Under-17 Champion opens Wednesday in Costa Rica, the United States will be favoured. Haiti will be everybody's favourite. All the games at the upcoming CONCACAF Under-17 Women’s Championship will be streamed free and live on CONCACAF.com.
