The Comox Valley United Soccer Club is offering a unique and exciting opportunity which will focus on working with local players and support club coaches in their development in order to meet objectives within the CSA’s LTPD program. As a grassroots organization, our club is based on the principles of integrity, inclusivity, transparency, hard work and fun whose goal is to attract as many people as possible to the beautiful game of soccer here in the wonderful Comox Valley. As the largest soccer association in Northern Vancouver Island, we have been a member of the soccer landscape since 1998 and continue to grow year by year. In doing so, we aim to not only create excellent soccer experiences for aspiring local athletes, but also to be an essential part of the local community fabric. As such, in order to achieve this goal and sustain our growth, we are looking for the right person to join our staff as the club’s new technical director.

Job Description
Technical Director


  • Plan develop and implement grassroots programming including curriculums for ages U5 and up
  • Establish formal and informal coach education opportunities and monitor progress of coaches’ development
  • Manage the club’s technical budget
  • Manage and run summer development camps
  • Assist with club player evaluations
  • Liaison with UISA, BC soccer and professional franchises in order to develop playing opportunities for CVUSC athletes within the CSA’s LTPD and player pathway
  • Conduct community outreach festivals in the local community
  • Lead the club’s application process to obtain Club Charter Status and within BC Soccer and CSA’s skill center license 

Educational and Work Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum National B license (Canadian or international equivalent)
  • Robust understanding of principles of the CSA’s LTPD – Mandatory
  • Previous work within a CSA “skill center” an asset
  • Technical Director Diploma an asset
  • Proven experience and success at a previous club an asset
  • Valid Canadian driver’s license
  • Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada
  • Must undergo a Criminal Record Check

  • Competency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with Financial Management an asset
Salary will be based on a 40/hr work week and commensurate with the successful candidate’s skills, experience and attributes;
