COACH THE COACH
VYSL COACHING DEVELOPMENT OPPROTUNITY
Coaching Development and providing formal and informal educational opportunities for coaches will now receive the highest priority for CVUSC. Our Coach-the-Coach program will return with formal BC Soccer clinics and club lead coaching sessions. Having coaches complete the appropriate age specific BC Soccer coaching course is very important first step for supporting the delivery of our Preferred Training Model curriculum and development of Valley Youth Soccer League players in CVUSC.
BC Soccer coach education is more accessible now that they have moved to a blended learning format allowing coaches to complete the theoretical part of the course online (Online Theory Part 1) and the on-field component (Practical Workshop Part 2) by attending an in person practical workshop.
CVUSC will present two Grassroots Coaching Educations Courses this fall. Active Start for coaches of U4 to U6 Players in Soccer Tots, Bambino’s and Micro’s. Active Start Workshop consists of completing 1.5 hours of online training followed by a 2-hour Practical On-Field Workshop. No pre-requisites required.
Fundamentals for U7 and U8 Mini’s consists of completing 1.5 hours of online training followed by a 3-hour Practical On-Field Workshop. No pre-requisites required.
Both Courses are free to CVUSC coaches. Coaches are welcome to take one or both courses.
All coaches must first contact our Director of Soccer Darrin at, email@example.com to receive a Key Code. The Key Code will give them access to the Online Theory (Part 1) offered through Soccer Canada. The Online Theory (Part 1) is a pre-requisite to the practical workshop and must be completed to register for any On-Field Practical Workshop (Part 2).
After completing Part 1 coaches can register for the On-Field Practical Workshops (Part 2) hosted by the club. Detailed instructions will be provided on how to register for Part 1 and Part 2 when the coach contacts Darrin to receive their Key Code.
