  • General Registration Information

    Registration Guidelines.

Players selected for a Select team must register within 2 weeks of being selected or that player’s spot will be forfeit and another player will be placed in their spot. Registration for the 2019/2020 Select season will be open May.

Team size is governed by the minimum and maximum players set by BCSA. The number of teams formed in each division may have to be limited (specifically U13-U18). To ensure your child has the best opportunity to play soccer, register early!

If registration in your division is full, do not despair! As the division managers work on forming teams and additional coaches are identified we may be able to open more spaces in a particular division. To have your child placed on a wait list, please contact the Registrar As spaces become available players will be taken from the wait list on a first-come-first-served basis. Please check your email for a notice of transfer from the wait list and instructions on how to pay your invoice.

Our online registration system accepts payment by Visa or MasterCard. If paying online with a credit card your registration will be processed immediately.

If you opt to pay by cash or cheque, you need to do the following:create your child's profile online, continue through all the checkout stages, when you get to the final payment screen click on "read more". This will open a page where you need to download 2 forms. Please bring those to the office with payment as soon as you can.Your child's registration is not complete until we receive both forms and payment at the office. Office hours are posted on the home page of the website.

All new players (first time registrations) joining the club for the first time must provide Proof of Birth Date to complete their registration. Please scan and email or drop off at our office a copy of a Birth Certificate, Passport, Citizenship Card or Sworn Affidavit to the address at the bottom of this page. Care Cards are accepted.

Any player who is not registered and paid in full by March 10, 2019 is not insured and will not be permitted to practice or play.

All players will play in their correct division, based on birth year. Exceptions to this rule are limited and must be approved by our VP Development Stefan. The online registration system will automatically place players in the correct division based on their age. If an exception is approved the player's registration will be transferred manually after the approval is received.

  • Financial Assistance Information

    Financial Assistance

While soccer continues to be one of the least expensive organized sports, we do recognize that some families may experience financial hardship. Subject to approval by the club executive, we may be able to provide a discount for certain registrations; however, we do ask that every applicant for financial assistance apply to an outside source, such as the KidSport or Jumpstart, for possible funding. The KidSport Fund is administered by Sport BC and its mission is to overcome the financial obstacles that prevent some young people from playing sport "So All Kids Can Play". For more information on the KidSport Fund and instructions on how to apply, click here.

  • Refund Policy

    Refund Policy

ALL REFUNDS GRANTED WILL BE LESS A $20 ADMINISTRATION FEE

It is not the coaches responsibility to handle refunds. All requests for refunds must be received in writing (letter or email) by the second week of play at the club office: Box 3563, Courtenay, BC, V9N 6Z8 - Email Us

When a player is registered, and the appropriate fees are fully paid, a refund may be granted only under the following criteria:

    • Prior to the season or program commencing, a refund may be granted, without reason, (less admin fee). No refunds will be issued after this point in time.
    • After the season has started, up to and including the second week of play, refunds will be considered for medical reasons only, and must be accompanied by a doctors note (less admin fee). There will be no refunds issued for medical reasons after this point in time
    • Select Players - once a player accepts a position on a team after evaluations are complete, there will be no refunds granted. .

  •  Season | Fall and Spring

We have two recreational "house league" seasons - September to November and April to June. Children are divided up into divisions according to age with all children playing with same-aged children. If numbers require, we will combine age groups in order to make an appropriate schedule. Games are all played on Saturdays. Fields and times are set two to four weeks prior to the start of the season.

  •
  •  Fields | Primary

The primary playing fields used are Valley View Elementary School, Highland Secondary School, Vanier Turf Field, Woodcote field or others as numbers require. Please click here to view our Field Locations & Status.

  •
  •  Division Manager | Volunteers

Each age group has a Division Manager. These are the people who form the teams and act as a liaison between the coaches and the Club. They help form the Youth Executive and are responsible for making the decisions that affect our children. Any questions regarding your child's team should first be directed to your child's coach and then to your Division Manager. If appropriate, they may choose to forward your question to the Head Coach or the VP of Youth.

  •
  •  Coaches | Parent Volunteers

Coaches are parent volunteers. Advanced knowledge of soccer is not required. CVUSC hosts beginner and advanced coaching clinics to assist coaches in their tasks. Coaches indicate their interest by checking the appropriate box on the registration form. Coaches are requested to provide one practice during the week at a field of their choosing and at a time appropriate for them.

  •
  •  Meeting | Coaches & Division Manager

Once coaches and teams have been arranged, the coaches are given their team lists at a coaches meeting, usually one to two weeks prior to the start of the season. The coach will then email his or her players to inform them of a first practice session.

  •
  •  Registration | Requirements

If players register after the registration deadline, they are placed on teams only if space allows. CVUSC plays two separate and distinct house seasons, fall and spring. Registration for each season is open as soon as the previous season ends. Other registration options are available - refer to the Registration page for full details.
