SPRING Recreation Program - Now Open!
Spring Soccer registration is now open! Season runs from Monday April 19 to Saturday June 19. Participation in the program will follow the BC Soccer and Via Sport’s Return to Play guidelines. Currently BC Soccer's Return to Play Phase 1 soccer has been extended through the end of March. RTP Phase 1 requires social distance drills, no physical contact, no games and no spectators. Spaces will be limited in some divisions, we encourage you to register early. Deadline to register March 31
Parents are required to read the Return to Play information and documents provided on this page of our website https://www.cvusc.org/return-to-play-phase-one
COVID guidelines and procedures are continually changing, we ask for your patience as we adjust to requirements. We are hopeful we will move into Phase 2 soccer before we kick off April 19, and will adjust programs accordingly if so. This will allow for more players/teams, and games will come into play.
NOTE - Bambinos (players born 2016) - while under RTP Phase 1 guidelines unfortunately we will not be offering a program for the Bambino player. If at some point during the season we move to RTP Phase 2 we will re-adjust and offer a shorter version of the program to these players. If you have a Bambino please email the soccer office to add your child to a wait list and we will contact you if anything changes. email@example.com
The spring program will have 8 weeks or 9 weeks of programming. Phase 2 Soccer allows for games but requires players to be placed in Cohorts of no more than 50 players. To maximize play league and vary competition division with more than 50 players will be divided into two Cohorts. These Cohorts train and play separately but can inter mix after a two week break and form up to play another series of games. In these division the teams will play and train four weeks, followed by a two week break, then finish in new Cohorts for another four weeks of programming. Divisions with less then 50 players do not require the two week break so will play and train for nine weeks. The two week break is scheduled for Victoria Day Long Weekend and the week before, May 16 to May 28.

From a general perspective the CVUSC House programs are not about winning; it's about providing opportunities for children to develop as soccer players while having fun in balanced, fair competition. Our programs focus on teaching solid skills as our players progress through the age divisions, all the while engaging them with the essence of soccer -- FUN.
We have two recreational Valley Youth Soccer League seasons - September to November and April to June. Children are divided up into divisions according to age with all children playing with same-aged children. If numbers require, we will combine age groups in order to make an appropriate schedule. Games are all played on Saturdays. Fields and times are set prior to the start of the season.
The primary playing fields used are Valley View Elementary School, Highland Secondary School, Vanier Turf Field, Woodcote field or others as numbers require. Please click here to view our Field Locations & Status.
Please click here for game formats, Bambino's U5 to U18
Each age group has a Division Manager. These are the people who form the teams and act as a liaison between the coaches and the Club. They help form the Youth Executive and are responsible for making the decisions that affect our children. Any questions regarding your child's team should first be directed to your child's coach and then to your Division Manager. If appropriate, they may choose to forward your question to the Head Coach or the VP of Youth.
Coaches are parent volunteers. Advanced knowledge of soccer is not required. CVUSC hosts beginner and advanced coaching clinics to assist coaches in their tasks. Coaches indicate their interest by checking the appropriate box on the registration form. Coaches are requested to assist or lead one practice during the week and a game on Saturday's.
Once coaches and teams have been arranged, the coaches are given their team lists at a coaches meeting, usually one to two weeks prior to the start of the season. The coach will then email his or her players to inform them of a first practice session.
If players register after the registration deadline, they are placed on teams only if space allows. CVUSC plays two separate and distinct house seasons, fall and spring. Registration for each season is open as soon as the previous season ends. Other registration options are available - refer to the Registration page for full details.
Shin Guards and cleats are mandatory, and are not part of your registration.
