Youth House League Programs | U5-U18 Players / Recreational League

Youth House league plays two separate seasons: Fall (September to November) and Spring (April to June). House seasons are independent; members are required to register for each season they wish to play.

Youth House is for players age 4-18. "U" stand for "Under". Bambinos are our youngest division (U5), then Micros (U6). After that Divisions are named according to their age: U7-U18.

CVUSC's volunteers plan and organize approximately 1,000 players for each season. To allow volunteers the time to carry out this process, players are required to register before a set date -- generally mid-August for the Fall league and mid-February for the Spring league. Everyone registering before the cut-off date is guaranteed a spot on a team. Players registering after the cut-off date are put on a wait list and may not be placed on a team.

Fall 2018 Youth House Soccer Program

Fall Youth House will run from Sept 8- Nov 3, 2018. The deadline to register is Aug 15, 2018. Spaces may be limited so please register early. After Aug 15 fees are increased $25/player, and players will be placed on teams only if space allows.

Games will be played Saturdays with one practice scheduled during the week for all age groups U7 and older. Bambinos & Micros have a combined practice and game during their one-hour time slot on Saturdays.

NOTE for players U15-18 - At this time we are taking names only for players born 2001/2001/2003/2004. Running this program is dependent on attaining coaches and a good number of players to form teams in this division. Please email Cheri if interested in registering your child for U15-U18 cvuscsoccer@gmail.com

Game location/time: To be determined at the end of August. All games are Saturdays, sometime between 9:30-2:30. The schedule needs to meet the needs of our volunteer coaches.

Practices: Our volunteer coaches will be setting practice times that are convenient to them, and will be determined based on field availability. If you are interested in coaching, please check the appropriate box on your registration.

Equipment: Cleats, soccer socks & shinpads are mandatory. A jersey is provided. Soccer socks and jerseys are provided for players to keep for U8 and under, thanks to our sponsor Tim Hortons. For players U9 and up, jerseys need to be returned.

From a general perspective the CVUSC House programs are not about winning; it's about providing opportunities for children to develop as soccer players while having fun in balanced, fair competition. Our programs focus on teaching solid skills as our players progress through the age divisions, all the while engaging them with the essence of soccer -- FUN.

Youth Policy & Procedures Youth Policy & Procedures (1264 KB)

  • Season | Fall and Spring

We have two recreational "house league" seasons - September to November and April to June. Children are divided up into divisions according to age with all children playing with same-aged children. If numbers require, we will combine age groups in order to make an appropriate schedule. Games are all played on Saturdays. Fields and times are set two to four weeks prior to the start of the season.

  • Fields | Primary

The primary playing fields used are Valley View Elementary School, Queneesh Elementary School, Highland Secondary School, Vanier Turf Field, Woodcote field or others as numbers require. Please click here to view our Field Locations & Status.

  • Games | Format

Please click here for game formats, Bambinos to U12

  • Division Manager | Volunteers

Each age group has a Division Manager. These are the people who form the teams and act as a liaison between the coaches and the Club. They help form the Youth Executive and are responsible for making the decisions that affect our children. Any questions regarding your child's team should first be directed to your child's coach and then to your Division Manager. If appropriate, they may choose to forward your question to the Head Coach or the VP of Youth.

  • Coaches | Parent Volunteers

Coaches are parent volunteers. Advanced knowledge of soccer is not required. CVUSC hosts beginner and advanced coaching clinics to assist coaches in their tasks. Coaches indicate their interest by checking the appropriate box on the registration form. Coaches are requested to provide one practice during the week at a field of their choosing and at a time appropriate for them.

  • Meeting | Coaches & Division Manager

Once coaches and teams have been arranged, the coaches are given their team lists at a coaches meeting, usually one to two weeks prior to the start of the season. The coach will then email his or her players to inform them of a first practice session.

  • Registration | Requirements

If players register after the registration deadline, they are placed on teams only if space allows. CVUSC plays two separate and distinct house seasons, fall and spring. Registration for each season is open as soon as the previous season ends. Other registration options are available - refer to the Registration page for full details.

  • What to Wear | Kit
