We have some very exciting developments in the works with some very high-profile soccer players coming to the valley this summer to help us establish our own Summer Academy.  This Academy promises to be affordable and convenient, accessible to players from a wide range of ages and abilities. Registration will be through the club starting at our June 16 House Wind-Up. Stay tuned.

Congratulations also to the U13B Predators on their Island Invitational Victory over Cowichan Valley 3-0, also in Nanaimo. Congrats also to CVUSC MVP Peter Gledhill, to coaches Mike Rodgers, Lawry Willis and team manager Shelley Clarke.

Congratulations to the U13G Thunder on their Island Invitational Victory over Saanich Fusion FC 2-1 in Nanaimo this past weekend. Congrats also to CVUSC MVP Haley Smith, coaches Ash Mohtadi, Sandy and Liza Grant and team manager Marla Bates.

 

Honourable Mentions to our U16G Crimson Crush who lost their final to the Saanich Fusion FC 2-0. Congrats to CVUSC MVP Cassidy Chamberlain, coaches Darrin McLeod, Matt Laver and team manager Courtney Bardonner.

 

Lastly Honourable Mention to the U18B Wolves who lost on Penalty Kicks to Saanich Fusion FC by a score of 5-4. Congrats to CVUSC MVP Nathan Tough, Coach Steve Betts and Manager Pam Lariviere

CALL FOR NEW CLUB EXECUTIVE - At the upcoming AGM on June 12, a number of our Club Executive will be stepping down from their positions. We wish to thank Matthew Blecha, Ash Mohtadi, Shelley Clarke and Sue Fleming for their many years of devotion and service to the club. Their departure, however, will leave our club with at least 4 openings on the Executive to be filled by new leaders keen on contributing to soccer in the Comox Valley. These positions include: Club President, VP Development, Registrar and Scheduler.

Following the success of last year’s inaugural Soccerthon, our club will be hosting this exciting season-ending event once again this June. Plans are now underway to build on the festive atmosphere created at last year's Soccerthon event. Steve Betts returns at the helm of the organizing committee. Way to go, Steve! The first Soccerthon volunteers meeting will take place this Thursday, April 26 at 7:30pm at our clubhouse. Please come and help make this happen! Email Steve
